We’ve faced a series of heatwaves this summer and, despite temperatures reaching a scorching 40 degrees, we’re very proud to say that all of our clients were still able to move as planned.

How we adapted to record temperatures
The heat wave in July 2022 saw the UK experiencing the hottest temperatures on record, and some customers were worried that it would mean their moves might not go as planned.
Staff members in all areas of our business were significantly affected by the heat, but didn’t let that stop them from providing a great, efficient service.
Moving house is a physically demanding job that’s made much harder by hot weather, but all our moves planned during the heatwave were able to go ahead on schedule.
To keep our workers safe, we planned lots of cold water breaks and took things at a slower pace than usual.
Tipper drivers and hauliers were able to adapt at a moment’s notice, with some drivers changing to night shifts to make use of the slightly cooler evening weather. Drivers who remained on days made full use of the aircon in their trucks and avoided being outside unnecessarily .
At our HQ, our office-based team members did their best to stay cool in order to serve our customers, with many taking regular strolls into our ice cold warehouse to cool down.
