Ballards moved us out of our previous house and into storage for 5 weeks and then into our new house. Every aspect of the move went really well and each stage was handled by cheerful, helpful staff. The cost of the move was competitive against other quotes and the service excellent. I would happily recommend Ballard for moving home.

This is the second time I have used Ballards, first time was 12 years ago and then again on the 5th Feb 2026. As before the two guys that came and packed me up and moved me were absolutely fantastic, because I’ve moved into a flat due to downsizing I needed my fridge freezer doors to open the opposite way and as I’m now a single lady and nearly 50 they did it for me which isn’t their job but as always they do go above and beyond. I didn’t even bother shopping around getting quotes as with Ballards you do get what you pay for and as last time there were not one item damaged or broken, I’m not planning on moving anymore but if I do Ballards will be the company that I use. Massive thanks Ballards.

We have recently moved home from Northamptonshire to Somerset. Throughout the whole process our experience of Ballards/Steeles of Stamford was excellent at every stage. We were impressed with the documentation prior to choosing a company, impressed with Shane the surveyor and with Lizz and Steve for phone contacts. Most of all though we were delighted with the team assigned to our actual removal. Ash, Josh, Mark and Stuart were all excellent - they were highly professional, personable, hard working and cheery throughout. They made an inevitably stressful situation far less so and we are extremely grateful. We would whole heartedly recommend this company

I’ve used Ballards four times in the last 7 months and six times overall and wouldn’t use any other removal company. Nothing is too much trouble. Ballards employees are really polite, friendly and helpful showing a great organisation culture. I can highly recommend.

The Ballard team were great from start to finish. We were concerned if the removal van would be too big to get down the access drive. They actually went and reviewed it, ascertained a smaller lorry would additionally be needed to transfer the load up to the bungalow. The team of 4 on the day were lovely, so hard working, friendly and very good at what they did. Highly recommend the company. Many thanks for a painless removal.

Ballards were very professional from start to finish.on the day of our moving 3 men came into our home covered the floor,carefully packed the lorry, providing portable wardrobes, and took down beds and wardrobes. Our exchange and completion were delayed, so they had some delay, but were excellent on arrival at new home, putting back beds and wardrobes with same care, boxes in rooms as stated.cant praise these men enough, we are elderly and wouldn’t have been able to do much of it ourselves. Thank you and if there were 10 stars you’d get them.

An excellent service with full packing. 45 years in one house generated 100 or so boxes. Very efficient and friendly team for the 3-day move. Everything carefully packed and delivered. Can’t recommend Ballards highly enough. From the moment of the initial contact (without knowing when we were moving and where we were moving to) Steve put us at ease that we were going to be looked after and that was exactly what happened. Great communication throughout (emails responded to quickly and a real and knowledgeable person to talk to on the phone when needed) made everything run smoothly. We went for self pack and boxes etc were delivered in plenty of time, and turned out to be a perfect estimate of what we needed. Can’t praise the team on the day highly enough - wow they emptied our 3 bed detached house in no time at all and with great care and good humour. And from speaking to friends and family, at a really good price. Definitely 5 stars from us.
