Ballards moved us out of our previous house and into storage for 5 weeks and then into our new house. Every aspect of the move went really well and each stage was handled by cheerful, helpful staff. We recently used Ballards on a big move from Nottinghamshire up to Dent, Cumbria. From the initial call with Steve, the video evaluation of all our stuff to the answering my multiple random questions over WhatsApp Steve was there. On the big day Rowan & Stuart arrived a bit early, introduced themselves and reassured us that there would not be any problem fitting our furniture on to the removal lorry. They were both extremely careful to protect the carpets and our walls as they were moving things out and the loading up was like a complicated jigsaw, very careful and secure. Day 2 to finish off went by in a flash and they were quickly heading north to our new home. The driveway and access to the house is very steep and a man made narrow track but this wasn't a problem for the Luton van they had brought along to decant from the big lorry which they had to park up several miles away. It was roasting hot but the team of 4 which now included Jake and Pete worked tirelessly to get our furniture into place as quickly as possible. In fact they all got up at 5am to enable them to arrive with the first Luton load by 6am. It was a really great experience and I have no hesitation in recommending them or using them again in the future. Thanks a million to you all for making this part of the process pretty stress free and comfortable.

This is the second time I have used Ballards, first time was 12 years ago and then again on the 5th Feb 2026. As before the two guys that came and packed me up and moved me were absolutely fantastic, because I’ve moved into a flat due to downsizing I needed my fridge freezer doors to open the opposite way and as I’m now a single lady and nearly 50 they did it for me which isn’t their job but as always they do go above and beyond. I didn’t even bother shopping around getting quotes as with Ballards you do get what you pay for and as last time there were not one item damaged or broken, I’m not planning on moving anymore but if I do Ballards will be the company that I use. Massive thanks Ballards.

Ballards were very professional from start to finish.on the day of our moving 3 men came into our home covered the floor,carefully packed the lorry, providing portable wardrobes, and took down beds and wardrobes. Our exchange and completion were delayed, so they had some delay, but were excellent on arrival at new home, putting back beds and wardrobes with same care, boxes in rooms as stated.cant praise these men enough, we are elderly and wouldn’t have been able to do much of it ourselves. From the moment of the initial contact (without knowing when we were moving and where we were moving to) Steve put us at ease that we were going to be looked after and that was exactly what happened. Great communication throughout (emails responded to quickly and a real and knowledgeable person to talk to on the phone when needed) made everything run smoothly. We went for self pack and boxes etc were delivered in plenty of time, and turned out to be a perfect estimate of what we needed. Can’t praise the team on the day highly enough - wow they emptied our 3 bed detached house in no time at all and with great care and good humour. Excellent removal firm and I would recommend it without any reservations. The team was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them to carry out. They arrived on time in the morning at 7am and after a look round and a few questions to me got on with the job, 5 hours in all. I was given the opportunity to inspect all rooms and they left as promptly as they arrived. My belongings are going into storage provided by them (very good rate as was the whole cost of the removal) so I won't be seeing them for a few weeks.
