If you’re looking to move house, one of the first things you’re likely to do (after choosing the right home, of course) is check out the Google reviews of local movers to see if they’re reliable, trustworthy and, essentially, that they do what they say ‘on the tin’.
While customer feedback and word of mouth are crucial for any growing business, there’s one vital element that people often overlook: accreditations.
What are accreditations and why do they matter?
In any sector, in any field, there are set standards that must be met to ensure clear and measurable quality. The removals and logistics business is no different. We have to regularly show that we’re meeting key benchmarks across the length and breadth of our services.
We’ve been eagerly ensuring we meet the mark now for well over a decade, and we’ve just secured our key accreditations now for the 11th consecutive year.
BSEN Standards
BSEN Standards are created by BSI, the British Standards Institution, which was the world’s first national standards body for ensuring consistency and compliance across British industry.
They’ve been helping companies to make measurable improvements since their very first day when Sir John Wolfe-Barry – the man who designed London’s Tower Bridge – called the first meeting. They represent years of careful collaboration between companies across the UK, each striving to ensure good practice, great governance and, of course, clear accountability.
BAR membership
This is the British Association of Removers and they have been ensuring operational excellence in the removals industry for over 100 years. Holding BAR membership is important to demonstrate that we have the know-how to get the job done with no drama. As the Association themselves put it “choosing a BAR Member will ensure your move goes smoothly, having the peace of mind that comes from using a reputable, professional and safe remover”
ISO certification
ISO is the International Organization for Standardization and this international body ensures that companies holding its certification show a keen environmental awareness and dedication to driving down their carbon footprint and improving organisational efficiency.
In addition to our BAR membership, we’ve also been carefully audited to ensure absolute compliance with ISO and our BSEN standards. Over the last 10 years, as we have evolved and grown, so has the number of standards we hold.
After initially securing the BS EN 12522 – which is THE quality assurance standard for domestic removals in the UK – we have successfully added a British Standard or an International Standard every year or so to ensure that our team is always gaining critical theoretical knowledge as well as hands-on, practical experience.
We now hold eight quality standards. Speaking about the achievement, our MD Matt Ballard said: “There are very few movers in the UK who have earned the right to claim they’ve absolutely proven to be at the pinnacle of our industry. We are proud to be one of those elite few!”
When looking to move house, it’s important to know that you and your belongings are in good hands. Thanks to our growing list of standards and certifications, you can rest assured that we have the proven knowledge as well as the practical know-how to oversee each and every element of your move.
