From Doncaster to a château in France – and back again

We’ve worked with one particular client near Doncaster for many years now, and their moves are never just a case of loading a van and heading off down the road.

Their life is split between the UK and a beautiful château in France, which means we regularly carry out international removals between Doncaster and France – sometimes moving full lorry loads across Europe, other times collecting a single high-value piece purchased locally and storing it safely until the next shipment.

It’s the kind of ongoing working relationship we’re really proud of. Not a one-off job, but years of trust built up move after move.

What makes these international moves different

International removals naturally come with a few more layers than a standard UK house move. There’s the distance, the border crossings, and the careful coordination needed when properties in two countries are involved.

But the biggest factor here is the furniture itself.

Many of the items we transport between Doncaster and France are antiques, irreplaceable pieces, or high-value furniture that require specialist handling. Standard packing simply isn’t enough. Expert wrapping, careful loading for long-haul European transport, and sometimes bespoke wooden crates are essential.

On top of that, the client often needs flexibility. Some items travel straight to France. Others are stored securely in the UK until the timing is right. Occasionally, selected pieces make the return journey back from the château to one of their UK properties.

No two shipments are ever quite the same.

How we make it work

Every move begins with careful planning. We carry out detailed pre-move surveys so we know exactly what we’re dealing with – especially when delicate or one-of-a-kind items are involved.

From there, our team handles the packing using specialist export wrapping materials designed for international removals. Where extra protection is needed, we build bespoke wooden crates to ensure items are fully secured for the journey from Doncaster to France.

Goods are then carefully loaded and secured for long-distance European transport. If storage is required, we use our secure, containerised facility in Nottinghamshire, keeping everything protected until it’s ready to travel.

We also regularly collect individual purchases from around Doncaster, storing them safely until a full consignment is ready to head across to France. It’s all about timing, flexibility and keeping things straightforward for the client.

A relationship built on trust

What makes this story special isn’t just the distance between Doncaster and France – it’s the relationship behind it.

Over the years, this client has continued to trust us with valuable, sentimental and irreplaceable belongings. Every international move has been completed smoothly, with items arriving safely at their destination, whether that’s a château in France or a property back here in the UK.

For us, international removals aren’t just about logistics. They’re about care, consistency and knowing that when someone hands you something important, you treat it as if it were your own.
