BAR Self Storage
The BAR Self Storage Interest Group (SSSIG) is a group of over 20 professional BAR UK companies who have ownership or control (and branding) of a self-storage facility and have demonstrated their commitment to providing professional self-storage services to members of the public and businesses large and small alike. European Standard for Domestic Removals (BSEN12522)
Ballards have elected to adopt the increasingly widely known European Standard for removals – BS EN 12522. These standards are the first and only recognised quality standards specifically aimed at furniture removals and storage for the benefit of the private individual. As a certified company, we operate to clearly defined standards and procedures relating to the services we provide and how we provide them, from the initial enquiry through to completion. These procedures are designed to benefit you, the customer, at every stage of your move.
British Standard for Commercial Moving Services (BS8522)
This standard relates to commercial removals and office relocations, and includes provisions relating to the initial contact, project scope and quotation, the move itself and the follow up monitoring and review. It also specifies the resources, documents and administrative processes that need to be in place. Regular audits take place to ensure that we comply with all mandatory requirements, in order to retain our certification.
Environmental Management Systems (BS EN ISO14001)
This standard demonstrates that protecting the environment is an important part of the way we manage and run our business and that we are committed to reducing our environmental impact. We have an environmental management plan in place which is monitored regularly to ensure ongoing improvement.
Quality Management System (BS EN ISO9001)
We have a range of quality management principles in place, including a strong customer focus and reliable processes, with a continuous improvement ethic throughout the business, to ensure that customers get consistent, high quality service. We are audited annually to confirm that we continue to meet the requirements of the standard.
Storage of Furniture and Personal Effects Standard (BS EN14873)
This is the only recognised quality standard specifically aimed at the storage of furniture and effects for private individuals. It requires us to operate to defined standards and procedures for the safe management of customers’ property and has specific requirements for the quality of our premises, containers and equipment, and the security measures we have in place. Customers are welcome to visit us at any time to see the quality of our storage facilities for themselves.
Self Storage Standard (BS EN 15696)
This standard relates to the provision of self-storage facilities and related services, for both personal and business users. It covers the quality and security of the self storage facility as a whole, the storage units, storage contracts, sales and service.
The Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman
We adhere to the British Association of Removers Alternative Dispute Resolution Scheme which is independently operated by The Furniture and Home Improvement Ombudsman.
